Jubilation In Niger Delta, As Federal Government Rescinds Decision To Stop Amnesty Program

There is jubilation in the Niger Delta following the decision of the Federal Government to rescind its plans to terminate the Presidential Amnesty Program (PAP).

The Interim Administrator, PAP, Maj-Gen Barry Ndiomu (retd), confirmed the government’s new position at the weekend.

Ndiomu, in statement by PAP’s Media Consultant, Donu Kogbara, expressed gratitude towards the Federal Government for listening when he made it clear that critical stakeholders across the region were strongly opposed to the winding down of the PAP.

The PAP boss added that all responsible stakeholders nevertheless support change and share his view that the programme needs to be totally refocused and restructured.
