Genesis Lynea Is The Quirky Bermudian Actress And Krump Crew Dancer


Genesis Lynea was born in Cooper’s Island, Bermuda.


Her parents divorced when she was a child and her father, a Jehovah’s witness, stayed behind in Bermuda while Genesis moved to Wandsworth, London where she grew up with her mother and step-father. Her father, Lionel Edwards, is a saxophonist and her mother, Genea “Adi” Wolf is a jazz singer.

Genesis attended the BRIT School alongside childhood friend Jessie J. She studied Geography at university for a year before deciding to pursue performing arts. She trained at the Arts Educational School in Chiswick, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in Musical Theatre in 2013.


Lynea founded her own dance crew, the Krump Crew, named after the dance move. She featured in Jessie J’s 2010 “Do It Like A Dude” music video as a dancer.

She also has been an ambassador for Adidas. Lynea’s early stage work includes ensemble roles in productions of The Bodyguard, Bend It Like Beckham: The Musical, Jesus Christ Superstar, and In the Heights as well as the role of Pilar in a 2016 production of Legally Blonde at The Curve in Leicester.


Lynea both starred in and helped to direct a 2017 production of The Wild Party at The Other Palace. She then landed roles in Ode to Leeds and Collective Rage: A Play in Five Betties. She landed the starring role of Anna of Cleves in the original cast of Six at the Arts Theatre and reprised her role for a 2018 recording. Lynea made her television debut in 2018 with the main role of Miss Maddie Harper in series 7 and 8 of CBBC series 4 O’Clock Club. That same year, she featured as additional vocals on Mont Jake’s track “Sexual Fantasies” and appeared in the music video. She released a single “Wild”. She also had roles in stage productions The Assassination of Katie Hopkins and as the lead in Sylvia.

In 2019, Lynea choreographed Club Mex. On 23 March 2019, she began appearing as Archie Hudson in the BBC medical drama Casualty. Lynea departed the role on 7 March 2020. In 2021, she appeared in the Netflix series Shadow and Bone as Natacha.
