Rotimi And Vanessa Mdee Expecting Their First Child Together As They Share Maternity Photos

Nigerian-American singer, rapper, and actor, Rotimi has taken to his Instagram page to announce that he is expecting his first child a boy with his Tanzanian music star fiancee, Vanessa Mdee.

In an exclusive interview with People, the couple revealed that they are expecting a baby boy. They said;

“We are super excited to welcome our son. As first-time parents, everything about this experience has been a brand-new challenge. We love it.”

33-year-old Vanessa said the pregnancy has been a “very smooth” journey so far. She said;

“He’s been so good to us. No real pain or symptoms. Some funny cravings and food aversions here and there. It’s been much harder in these final weeks because he’s preparing his arrival, but all in all we’ve been super blessed.”

Their maternity photos, taken by Leslie Andrews and shared exclusively with PEOPLE, featured make-up by Danielle Elston, hair by Autumn Thomas and styling by Elena Ayala.

Rotimi, 32, and Mdee met at an Essence Festival afterparty in New Orleans and have been “inseparable ever since,” as Rotimi puts it: “Vee headed back to Africa [at the time], but we quickly realized we couldn’t and didn’t want to live without each other.”

Sharing maternity photos, Vanessa wrote;

The greatest gift of all, THANKYOU JESUS for choosing us – it is a true true honor. We are overjoyed
Isaiah 55:2 – Al your children shall be taught by the LORD, and great shall be the peace of your children

Rotimi on the other hand wrote;

My greatest gift has been you. You changed my life and now we are beautifully linked forever to raise a little us. I pray our son has your glow Your heart, Your mind, and your spirit. I will protect you and our son with everything I have!
